WILLIAM HUNTER OBITUARY
William 'Bob'Cookie' Hunter
William "Bob" "Cookie" R. Hunter, 70, of Slippery Rock passed away Wednesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born Jan. 18, 1940, in Butler, the son of the late William H. Hunter and Harriet Gallagher Hunter.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War.
He had been self-employed as a heavy equipment operator and currently was working for McClymonds Supply and Transit. He played the organ and the piano for churches in the area for 17 years.
He was a member of West Sunbury American Legion Post 243 and the A.C.T.S.
Bob enjoyed watching NASCAR, and most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his great-grandson.
Surviving are his companion of 17 years, Carol Pash of Slippery Rock; a granddaughter who he raised, Denille Burns; two grandsons and a granddaughter; a great-grandson, Aiden Hunter Henderson; and a brother, Harold J. Hunter of Johnson City, Tenn.
HUNTER - Friends of William "Bob" "Cookie" R. Hunter, who died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect. Military honors will be accorded by the American Legion Post 778 and VFW Post 249.
